Acknowledgment of Form:

We acknowledge the origins of Krump, a form born in South Central Los Angeles from Black and Latino communities, emerging as a powerful outlet for raw expression, release, healing, and resistance. We acknowledge the creators, pioneers, and OGs who built and shaped this culture through lived experience, community, and survival, and the communities around the world who continue to carry the form forward. Power Lines brings Krump into conversation with contemporary dance. We recognise that these forms come from different histories and contexts, and we approach this meeting with respect, awareness, and intention.Some of the performers are Krumpers, some are contemporary dancers, and some move between both practices. Together, we are exploring what it means to share space, knowledge, energy, and physical language without erasing where those forms come from.We do not claim ownership of Krump. We acknowledge the culture we are entering, the people who built it, and the responsibility that comes with carrying it into a new context.
