POwer Lines
Power Lines is a work in development exploring the social structures that limit who is able to take up space. Created in collaboration with the women of Burn City Krump community, the work uses the language of Krump to embody oppression, resistance, and collective transformation.
Developed through Out of Bounds, curated by Lucy Guerin and Dancehouse, Power Lines is now being expanded into a full-length work for Give Me a Microphone and Some Warm Bodies, presented by Co-Exist.
Through strong, sweaty, and guttural physicality, Power Lines moves from isolation towards unity, revealing shared experiences of pain, resilience, and empowerment. The work reimagines the audience's relationship to theatre while inviting new audiences into the expressive and deeply communal world of krump.
